Celebrating a paintbrush that’s 40 years old and still going strong! Bought at Russell & Chappell, Drury Lane, London, 1985. Omega, made in Italy.

This brush has lived a remarkable life:

Painted theatrical backdrops and scenery across the West-End in London, England, Scotland, and Ireland for many years.

Decorated rave parties in northern England in the late ’80s and early nineties. Did an Edinburgh Festival.

Traveled to India in the early ’90s, then back to London for Megatripolis at Heaven.

Joined the Zippy Pronoia Tour of the USA in 1994, painting at raves across the country From NY to San Francisco.

In the mid-’90s, this brush sailed for three years on the oceans on the Research Vessel Heraclitus, during coral reef research diving expeditions.

Later journeys took it through East Africa, Europe, Morocco, Spain, California, Oregon, Washington State, and New Mexico.

And finally… Patillas, Puerto Rico, where it now resides — still in use, still creating.
